UX Case Study Storytelling Guide: Going Beyond the Bootcamp Template

Hi, my name is Stuart Kim. I'm a Product Design Lead, Mentor@DesignLab, Ex-Design Manager, and a General Assembly alum. That’s all to that say that I’ve done my fair share of writing and reviewing UX case studies. UX design case studies are starting to look and sound the same, and frankly, boring and forgettable. Though all good case studies share the same foundational components, how you tell the story is a major part of making it memorable. It makes a big difference.

This guide walks you through a sequence of questions that I ask myself as I review case studies. You'll craft your narrative simply by answering them.

How to use:

1. After you get this free guide, it should auto-redirect you to Notion. If it doesn't redirect you to Notion, you can find the link on your Gumroad Library (https://app.gumroad.com/library)
2. Open the template link, then click "Duplicate" on the top right corner to duplicate it to your Notion workspace. If you don't already have Notion, you can download it here. It's free!
3. That's it! You should be able to edit the template and adjust it for your needs. I hope it elevates your UX design case studies.
